Michelle Smith, LPC

Michelle Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Virginia Board Approved LPC Supervisor. She has over a decade of experience working with individuals with complex trauma, college students/young adults, couples, children, adolescents, and families. She enjoys working with individuals of all ages, particularly those that struggle to know their value due to painful experiences. Helping clients reach their full potential as well as gain peace and clarity from their past is what drives Michelle.

Michelle provides support to clients struggling with anxiety, depression, life stressors, grief, interpersonal difficulties, PTSD, among other things. She is an EMDR International Association Approved Consultant and Certified EMDR therapist as well as a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor (RPT-S) through the Association for Play Therapy. She has a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), recognizing that many individuals during and after pregnancy experience specific hardships and need additional support and resources. Michelle is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) as well as an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) through the National Board for Certified Counselors. She provides both residency supervision as well as consultation for those seeking RPT and/or EMDR credentialing.

Erika Theodorides, LPC

Erika Theodorides is a licensed professional counselor in Virginia. Erika received her Master’s in Counselor Education from Lynchburg College. Erika has more than 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in an outpatient counseling and school setting. Erika provides counseling with individuals and families to address various issues such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma and abuse, grief, attention-deficit and disruptive behavior disorders, adjustment disorders, anger management, social skills, and parenting issues.

​Erika uses an eclectic approach in her therapy sessions including play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and person centered therapy. She can also provide a unique therapeutic experience to clients through the use of a therapy dog. Erika wants to create an environment where the client feels respected, safe, and supported in their counseling experience.

Ashton Smith, LPC

Ashton Smith is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Virginia. She received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University in 2015. In 2011 and 2012, Ashton traveled to Rwanda, Africa to explore the impact of trauma on a societal and individual level. During the trip, Ashton explored various ways the country has coped, developed resiliency, and has overcome the impacts of trauma. Ashton has five years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of settings to include crisis settings, school settings, and home settings prior to transitioning to private practice.

Ashton provides counseling to individuals of all ages and families to address various issues such as trauma, anxiety, anger management, abuse, depression, life changes, parenting issues, grief, attention-deficit disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, and adjustment disorders. Ashton uses an eclectic approach in sessions, but finds that she utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and play therapy, with a trauma and person-centered approach most frequently. Most importantly, Ashton has a desire and a heart to walk alongside her clients and provide a safe and accepting environment in their journey to hope and restoration.

Katelyn Childs, LPC

Katelyn Childs is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved LPC Supervisor. She received her Bachelor’s from Virginia Tech and her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynchburg College. She has been working in the mental health field for over 8 years in a variety of settings such as community, school, and home-based, as well as private practice. Katelyn enjoys working alongside people of all ages and backgrounds, with adolescents being her foremost passion. She is also devoted to fostering the field of counseling by supporting and educating counselors and increasing awareness of legal and ethical issues. 

Katelyn provides support to clients struggling with issues such as OCD, depression, anxiety, stress, issues related to grief and loss, trauma, interpersonal conflict, attachment-related difficulties, among other things. She has completed specialized training of ERP (Exposure Response Prevention) with the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) in their Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) for use with clients suffering from OCD and other related issues. She is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) through EMDRIA and uses this effective technique with adults and children alike. Katelyn believes that no matter what a person has experienced, most people can benefit from counseling, and is a strong proponent for early intervention and prevention.

Marisa Jones, LPC

Marisa Jones, MEd., LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Marisa’s personal philosophy and approach to counseling is a collaborative work that considers life experiences, patterns, relationships, and beliefs that have shaped and currently influence you or your family member’s ways of being in the world. Using a trauma-focused, holistic approach, she meets her clients where they are to collaborate on the path to healing. Using person-centered modalities, Marisa will allow her training to guide the process of identifying and exploring challenges through building a relationship with you and/or your family member. By providing a safe and accepting environment that facilitates growth, insight, and change, Marisa will work with you to determine the best fit for your needs.

Marisa is a member of the Virginia Association of Play Therapy, working toward a credential. She has spent time working with children and families in both the school and outpatient settings. Marisa received her Master of Education and a Certificate in Advanced Counseling from the University of Lynchburg.

Mandy Nobilini, Resident in Counseling

Mandy Nobilini received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is currently a Resident in Counseling. Her areas of clinical focus include OCD, anxiety, depression, and/or other chronic mental health concerns.

Mandy’s treatment approach often includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and/or Motivational Interviewing (MI). Mandy is passionate about her work and offers warmth, empathy, non-judgment, practicality, and a bit of humor (when appropriate) in sessions.

Mandy believes that counseling is a space to share openly, increase self-awareness, and move towards emotional health and lasting change according to your personal values. She acknowledges that beginning counseling is a big step and invites you to reach out to see if she may be a good fit for your counseling goals.

Carson Halufska, LPC


​Carson Halufska
holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. Carson received her Integrative Trauma Coach certification from Aura Institute. To date, her clinical experience includes work in an array of sectors including an in-patient psychiatric hospital, community mental health, schools, and private practice.

Carson has experience working with a variety of topics including anxiety, depression, sexual addictions, anger management, trauma, parenting issues, adjustment difficulties, attachment issues, childhood trauma and abuse, ADHD and more. Carson borrows from multiple theories, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy,  Attachment-Based Theory, and Somatic Therapy.

Carson is passionate about helping others to understand and believe that their worth comes from being a child of God, and to fully experience the healing and joy that can only come from a personal relationship with the Lord.

Aaron Boyce, LPC

​Aaron Boyce is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. He has been working in the mental health field since 2017 in a variety of capacities. Aaron has experience working with families, couples, adults, and children (in school, home, and office settings). Providing mental health support and therapy in these various domains has equipped Aaron with the insights to understand people in their environmental and systemic contexts. Aaron enjoys working alongside people of all ages and backgrounds, with a special interest in pediatric (ages 3-10) and expressive therapies (e.g. play therapy techniques, sandtray therapy). Aaron is working toward gaining the credential of Registered Play Therapist (RPT).

Aaron works with a variety of life circumstances including addictive behaviors, family conflict, divorce, LGBTQ+ identities, life transitions, relational stress, faith transitions, and loss of meaning. Aaron blends humanistic-existential psychology with analytical psychology to create a warm, relational approach that is grounded in theoretical concepts. Aaron believes that everyone is their own best healer, and therapy can help reconnect people to their authentic self that is already moving toward growth. Aaron’s hope for his clients is for them to fully engage with the experiences of the past, be honest with the present, and use the immense power of inner healing to shape their future.

Lisa Fox, LPC

Lisa Fox received her Master’s from Liberty University and has help clients of all ages from intensive care to the counseling office. She holds a special interests in helping clients get unstuck from depression, anxiety, OCD, and adult-onset and childhood traumas. Lisa is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). She believes the counseling relationship is a grace space where healing and transformation take place.
